To find meetings contact Adult Children of Alcoholics World Service Office at: e-mailinfo@adultchildren.org, call your local Mental Health Departments, check newspapers (usually community events listings), local therpists -counselors, battered women/mens groups ---just to name a few places to check. Always call the church/meeting place or phone numbers you find to make sure that meetings really exist. Unfortunately, some meetings close and no one removes the information from the newspapers.
To start a meeting, get a copy of the New Meeting Package from ACA World Service. You do not need to be in a meeting for years in order to start a meeting. Cost is $4.00 plus postage and it comes with everything you'll need to start a new meeting. Its a good idea to order a few Newcomers chips and booklets too.
Contact ACA WSO at info@adultchildren.org or www.adultchildren.org
Remember, it only takes 2 to have a meeting. You don't need coffee, tea etc but its nice to have. Check churches or hospitals for possible places to meet. Also check places where there are AA meetings are held. Many times there will be some sort of rent to pay. We take up a collection at each meeting for such items. When you discuss possiblymeeting places with churches/hospitals, it is a good idea to let them know it might take 6 or so months before you can pay for rent in full. Give them what you have each month and this way you won't be worrying about making ends meet each month.
